C’mon! Get up it’s late!
Don’t you hate waking up to that shrill call from your mom or dad?
Now you have to rush to get dressed, eat breakfast, wash up, grab your backpack and then fly out the door all stressed and NOT ready for school.
I hate that too.
So we don’t do it.
My dad figures, “Hey, we overslept. We’re late.”
“Rushing around and getting all crazy isn’t going to get us to school on time. So chill.”
“Get dressed. Eat breakfast just like any other day. Wash up, and when you’re done, we’ll get on our way.”
Without all the stress and yelling!
You can’t go back and not be late. So what does it matter if you’re just a few minutes later because you took the proper time to prepare for the day. You took the time to start your day off right. Relaxed and happy.
Instead of getting yelled at, you get to think of and enjoy the fact that you already missed your first class.
I think that’s a much better way to start the day.
It’s not good to be late, but like most things in life, it happens.
And you may as well learn to make the best of it.
If you’re parent is a screamer, feel free to share this thought with them.
